Things have been awfully quiet around here of late, and I have to admit I haven't been here much either.  Ecanus.net's blushing smiley Reasons:

a) relatives, of the poorly variety
b) work, too much of
c) websites, busy making, including one for the most demanding client I have so far come across - my 7 yr old nephew - talk about Mr Picky!  G.T.'s giggle smiley
d) learning, of the geeky stuff variety. Feb to May I did an open source/PHP course which kept me pretty damned busy, as I'm sure Mr PrawnDog will agree, and from the beginning of May I started a server management and stuff course, which is currently also keeping me pretty busy trying to fathom out the inner workings of Apache.

So, what's everyone been up to?

On (d) you're giving me the shivers. I remember how painful it is to look at http.conf

Yep. Its complexity rivals Oracle DB.

Joke.

Why is Oracle so complex?

Yeah, the first one was OK (PHP - I had a choice between learning to use the echo statement or just mostly ignore the coursework and continue a current PHP/GD picture manipulation stuff - no contest! G.T.'s giggle smiley), and I'm not on the server management one until October, so it's fun, fun, fun (and holidays) until then (and it will probably finish a couple of days before christmas, so no present buying until Christmas Eve!).

http.conf is rather heavy going but it's not too bad now I've got my head round it (sort of) and the course does give you a lot better idea of the inner workings of a web server. All in all I'm finding it quite interesting, though having said that, the results of the first CMA aren't back yet, and I may well change my mind after that  G.T.'s giggle smiley

I've just printed the second one off, and after a coffee and a ciggie, I'm going to start looking at that. It's a toss up between that or a horrendously complicated image map for a client site that it's just taken me two days to finish the graphics for. Hmmmm....CMA or complex image map that also has to be semantically correct and accessible....I think the CMA wins on this occasion.  Ecanus.net's grin smiley

I must be getting old. (Ok,ok Fallen Angel. I know the 'getting' old will be giving you the giggles)

Same here. One in particular needs a serious overhaul, but I never seem to be able to find the time these days.  G.T.'s sadlook smiley
