And you love it Duke.  Speaking of idiot spammers though - I've finally had enough of them and will be defensive action in the next few days in the form of a new registration procedure which has worked very well at stopping the fw spammers on another forum I admin. |

Hi Cruxop - thanks, I'll take a look at that. IIRC you can change the complexity of the captcha with SMF, so I'll investigate that.

My question would be "does it work?" If so, maybe it's complex enough; if not, it may need increasing in complexity, but I haven't seen any spammers getting through so far...have any?

Good point PrawnDog. I'd completely forgotten about this anyway after the "image map from hell"  Nope, no spammers getting through as far as I'm aware unless some of the others are clearing anything up when I've not been around. The other board I admin which is much bigger and busier than here hasn't had any problems either, and the two have an identical setup, so for the moment I think probably on the grounds of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", I'll leave it alone. |
