Not that I'm tightfisted or anything, but I've been investigating cheaper alternatives to the Quickbooks accounting software I'm currently using, and came across TurboCASH - open source accounting software. I've not had chance to give it a thorough workout yet, but it's got features to rival the well known commercial software, and integrates with M$ software etc. May be worth a look.

I used to use Excel spreadsheets but then with a project I was working on there kept being so many changes to be budget headings that I was having to re-do my spreadsheets on a regular basis and it started to be a real PITA so I got Quickbooks, which is okay, but the support for it's not terrific. Of course the other thing is I do object to having to get two licenses to put stuff on my laptop as well, thus Diva-ette is an open source zone  Ecanus.net's grin smiley

Erm, I use Access.  I know it's pathetic, but I never have got to grips with Excel G.T.'s giggle smiley

Anyone can create a usable website. It takes a graphic designer to make it slow, confusing, and painful to use.

I used to be really good with Excel - back when I had a "proper" job - I had enormously complex spreadsheets set up.  I did an excel spreadsheet for my husband as an electronic logbook which keeps track on his flying hours in various given periods plus and a few other clever bits.  Problem is that I did this 5 or so years ago when I still had some memories about how all this worked!  Now he asks me to add rows in or something really simple like that and I can't remember how I set up all the formulii - I'm terrified that I'll ruin the whole thing!
