Site News & Updates

The new site's here, so other than an odd tweak or quick fix where I missed something, we're good to go! Yay!
Welcome to ecanus•net, my own little cover of cyberspace. ecanus•net is my personal web site, a place where I share completed works of fiction, works in progress, and various bits of other stuff.
There's a section on web design, and some of my (slightly) more coherant ramblings on web dev and stuff, and it's the home to my forum, MasterWeb: mastering the web with the IB Geek Girls. More about that on the web design pages.
There's also a graphics section, containing some of my graphics which you may or may not find useful, some of my photography (the ones where I remembered to take the lens cap off!), and it's also home to my smiley collection which you're free to use to post on forums etc. as long as you follow the rules. The relaunched blog will follow along again very shortly.
ecanus•net lives in the UK, somewhere in the region between the Watford Gap and Hadrian's wall – I've never narrowed it down closer than that.
Who am I?
That probably reads slightly wrong, because I'm sure you know who you are. "Who are you?" might have read slightly better, but again could be slightly confusing because I'm sure you know who you are, and I certainly know who I am, so now that we're all thoroughly confused I'll tell you a bit about me.
I'm Fallen Angel, and I live in Derbyshire in the UK. I'm a girlie type person, and according to my birth certificate I'm currently 40 years old. I work in the tedium of local government and in web design and development, and apart from all things geeky I'm also interested in photography, writing, and collecting useless things and stuff. When I grow up I'd like to be either an astronaut or a school dinner lady; I haven't decided which yet.
I'm most commonly known online as Fallen Angel and variations on that (depending if that username was available), though I'm also known in some places as Celestia, NeonBlue, and Womble. These aren't multiple personalities (I keep them under lock and key), but just variations on me.
Anyhow, welcome to ecanus•net! Make yourself at home, take your shoes off and make yourself comfortable.
Original work on this site
Unless otherwise stated on the credits page or elsewhere on individual pages, all work on this site is copyrighted by me, and should not be used elsewhere without my permission.
ecanus•net is designed to be standards compliant to the W3C's web standards – XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS 2.0 on this site. In the same way language has rules, web sites also have their own ‘grammar’. Using web site code that complies to the W3C standards makes a (hopefully) error free website that's compatible with as many browsers as possible, including assistive browsers.
A word about browsers
This site is designed to be standards compliant and should display as intended on all modern browsers. That said though, Internet Explorer is what is commonly known as ‘A Very Bad Browser’, which tends to do what it wants and make the rules up as it goes along. For your viewing pleasure therefore, we recommend the lovely Firefox browser which is ever–so cute and comes with lots of lovely attachments.
